NPP Primary: Okaikwei North parliamentary elections are won by Nana Ama Dokua

With 341 votes, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah -Adjei, a member of parliament representing Akuapem North, has won the Okaikwei North parliamentary primary.


Around 850 representatives casted a ballot in the Okaikwei North voting demographic. Within this constituency, there were six candidates vying to be the NPP's next parliamentary candidate.


They included Prince Owusu Mensah, who received six votes, Akoto Alberta Afia Asomaniwa, who received 228, and Nyarko Stephen Adipa, who received 108 votes. Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie received 27 votes. The former MP for the region, Fuseini Issah, polled 114 people.


Prior, disarray ejected in the supporters when a few representatives accepted not to be from the body electorate endeavored to cast a ballot there.



Observing this, some delegates raised the alarm and got into a fight with them; fortunately, the police arrived to settle the situation.
