The infamous "Ghana Must Go" bags have been banned from Ethiopian Airlines flights to Nigeria.


During the 1980s, hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants, many of whom were Ghanaians, were kicked out of Nigeria, giving the luggage its nickname.


The checked bags in red and blue were carried by individuals as they fled.


The airline claims that the ubiquitous carriers, which are popular with traders, can now negatively impact airport equipment.



In an explanation Ethiopia Carriers said the boycott was presented in light of "the successive event of harms to the transport lines at different air terminals, bringing about tremendous costs caused by the carriers in question".
