On Friday, April 12, Nigerian transvestite Idris Okuneye, also referred to as Bobrisky, was found guilty of mutilating Naira notes and given a six-month jail term.

The punishment was given by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court located in Lagos.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) first charged the notorious transvestite on April 5, 2024, with six counts, including money laundering and mutilation of Naira notes.

Bobrisky admitted to the allegations of Naira misuse, and the money laundering charges were withdrawn.

Bobrisky was originally scheduled to be judged on April 9 in EFCC custody in Lagos; however, the court had to postpone because of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

The sentence was announced on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's X, previously Twitter.
